More about Mia

Mia Freedman became editor of Australian Cosmopolitan at the age of 24 — the youngest-ever woman to edit the magazine in the world. She went on to become Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan, Cleo and Dolly. She is a much sought-after commentator on television and radio, chairs the National Body Image Advisory Group and writes a popular column for the Sun-Herald and the Sunday Age. She also publishes her own online magazine at www.mamamia.com.au, and is the mother of three.

Late last year, Mia published a book 'Mama Mia - A Memoir of Mistakes, Magazines and Motherhood'.

With an appealing blend of intelligence, humour and self deprecation, Mia has written a wry, unfettered account of her remarkable life and career so far. She writes with candour about her personal and professional life, revealing the highs and lows of being a working mother, sharing her heartbreak over a tragic miscarriage, the difficulties of her tumultuous months at Channel Nine and the thorny issues around her role as a body-image champion.

As a wife, mother, friend, daughter, boss, employee and media personality, she knows what it’s like to keep all the plates spinning and, like many other women, she also knows what it’s like when they come crashing down.

We know you'll enjoy hearing Mia's story first hand, when she entertains us all at Lunch and Learn. We look forward to seeing you there!
