This week we talk to, Amy Sewell of Amy Sewell Photography in Perth

Describe your typical day… Every day is so different for me which is why I love my job; I’m always working on a new project. It depends if I have a photo shoot and/or deadlines to complete. Typically I get up with my cup of tea, go straight to my computer (usually in my pyjamas) and check my emails. Then I either get ready for a photo shoot or start working on the post-production from my previous shoot. When it’s a little quieter I’m working on the daily duties that occur in any small business - PR & Marketing, account management, client bookings etc. I also try to squeeze in spending time with family and friends and exercise.

When was the last time you felt inspired? This morning. I have a framed inspirational saying on my bedside table that says “happiness is a journey not a destination…” I wake up and look at it everyday. I also have one on my desk that says “we do not remember days… we remember moments”.

Being a photographer I love to make photo frames a big part of my home (which is also where I operate my business). I try to display who I am/my ‘personality’ through my interior decorating in every room as daily inspiration… Especially the office as this is the room where I spend most of my time. Being self-employed and working from home one of the most important things for me is to be self-motivated.

What’s next on your Bucket List and why? An exhibition. I’m working on a new collaboration (Sewell Creative Productions) with my sister Teagan who is a fashion stylist/event manager. It’s a joint project to combine our qualifications and experience in our respective fields. We are working on the launch/exhibition at the moment. Sewell Creative Productions will be a ‘one stop shop’ for anyone holding an event. From the invite design, PR and marketing through to styling and photography and the event management.

Tell us something about you that may surprise people? I once wanted to be a florist!

What’s your top tip for success? Do something you love, life’s too short to not love your job. Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.

What would you like to get from your Business Chicks experience? I already get it. Photographing the Perth events and listening to the always-inspiring stories from the guest speakers. I love the atmosphere and meeting all the Perth Business Chicks – there’s always an amazing buzz in the room. I also love receiving Latte. The stories continue to impress me and make me think outside the square as to how I can implement change within my company and myself and do things differently.

As our Member of Week Amy receives a gift of a free makeover from Napoleon Perdis, valued at $80.

They can also be produced in ways that allow the material to degrade. At the moment however bio-plastics cost too much to produce, and the amount of renewable raw materials is relatively limited, so they represent a small part of the plastics industry. ebookreviews.ning.com/pdf/michael-fiore-text-your-ex-back-review-digital-downloadReply
